Cameron Raasdal-Munro

Writer, Actor and Producer

About me

I am an international produced award winning and nominated writer, actor and producer. My work explores LGBTQIA+, working-class and criminal-class lives, creating bold, character-driven stories that centre communities often overlooked on stage.

My debut play, Gangsta Baby, has had two privately funded productions in London and Chicago. Its London premiere at The Hope Theatre was met with critical acclaim, receiving five-star reviews and winning three Pink Prince Theatre Awards 2024 for Best Fringe Show, Best Lead Actor and Best Creative (Writer).

Following its London success, Gangsta Baby transferred to Chicago in Autumn/Winter 2025, where it was produced by Open Space Arts. The production was both a critical and commercial success, earning recommendations from every reviewing publication, including the Chicago Reader and Newcity Stage. The production sold out before opening, extended its run due to demand, and sold out again, while generating significant media coverage through interviews and features in outlets including Windy City Times, Chicago Reader and Queer Guru.

The Chicago production concluded with six BroadwayWorld Chicago Award nominations: Best Play, Best Performer, Best Supporting Performer, Best Ensemble, Best Choreography and Best Lighting Design. It also received two Joseph Jefferson (Jeff) Award nominations for Best Performer in a Principal Role and Best Performer in a Supporting Role, winning the latter.
